The article discusses the works of L.F. Zurov, representative of Russian emigration of the first wave, from the point of view of the relationship of his art with the ideas of the Russian religious-philosophical thought of the XIX-XX centuries. In the context of the idea of contemplation prose L.F. Zurov is investigated from the perspective of the works of Vl. Soloviev, S. Bulgakov, I. Ilyin. From the standpoint of inclusion of his work in the artistic comprehension of the spiritual traditions of family education as the basis of national life in Russia – from the perspective of the work N. Lossky, N. Arseniev. The object of research is the novel "Cadet" (1926), novels "the Ancient way" (1934) and "Field" (1936). The beginning of contemplative prose by L.F. Zurov contributed to the comprehension of the author of the ontological essence of being, the deep foundations of the Christian worldview. Identifying spiritual potential of the family in the upbringing of an individual testified that the foundations of Evangelical piety, unselfish help a neighbor, active mercy, high demands of himself which were laid in a Russian family, regardless of social affiliation, – have led to the formation of spiritual and moral riches of Russia. In the person of L.F. Zurov Russian literature of the twentieth century acquired an original, talented writer Orthodox.
