Extended abstract:
The work of Vasily Shukshin represents a product of a writer's creativity of 60 ties, from the Twentieth century, which is of great importance in Russian literature and is called the work of the writers «derevenshchiki» (rus villagers). He was born in 1929 in Srostki village at the foot of the Altai Mountains and made his debut at the end of 50 ties. Already his first works emerged as a significant literary personality of the writer. Shukshin's work remains relevant in our time and represents a bond in international cultures. The article is devoted to religious motives in the works of Shukshin and his contribution to the Russian trend of «derevenshchiki» prose. Shukshin asks questions about the fate of village culture. Its spiritual wealth and transcendent state of the village people. Many established literary critics in their studies point out the reflection of Christian motives in Shukshin's work. A deep feeling of love for the mother and the folk culture, as well as the whole life of the writer, points to his Christian roots. Mercy, sympathy, kindness, the cult of the Mother of God - we see all this in such works as (I want to live, Strong Man, The Red Snowball Tree, Master, etc.). Analyzing the works of Vasily Shukshin, we can conclude that his work is imbued with religious spirituality. Shukshin's work is recognized all over the world, and most of his works have been translated into numerous languages. The article represents the opinion of critics about Shukshin’s work. Many popular philologists valued his work as a philosophical message and branded his work as "a fact of the spiritual life of Russia", adding that he has an important place among writers who study "the Russian soul of the nation". According to critics, the essence of Shukshin's prose is his fear that a man in the new, urban conditions may not dispel all the good, spiritual, that he has in himself. Discussing a stylistic form, his works contain a lot of symbolism, philosophical premises and folk styling. In their opinion, Shukshin, with his uncompromising assessment of the reality in which the hero of his book was living, deserved the title of "real bard" and his style finds its place in the dialogue of world national cultures. Experts on Shukshin's work from Iran, Poland, Italy, Germany and other countries are researching his prose so far.
